Programs

We bring our expertise to multiple gardening programs, developing the participant's future and redefining what is possible, one project at a time.

Currently Offered Programs

Incarcerated Garden Programs

Through activities like gardening and meditation, participants gain a deeper understanding of their own behaviors, triggers, and emotions. This self-awareness is essential for personal growth and rehabilitation, as it help individuals recognize patterns that may have lead to their incarceration and work towards positive change. Gardening requires discipline, patience, and responsibility. By engaging in these activities, inmates learn valuable self-management skills such as time management, goal setting, and problem solving. These skills are transferable to other areas of life, aiding in successful reentry into society. Participants in the incarcerated garden programs also learn about the importance of caring for the environment. They engage in sustainable gardening practices, which not only benefit the justice environment but also instill a sense of responsibility towards the planet.

Youth Garden Programs

Our youth gardening programs are designed to engage young people in gardening activities while fostering important life skills and environmental awareness. Our programs help participants develop self-awareness by encouraging them to reflect on their actions and emotions. Working in a garden requires attention to detail and observation, which helps young people become more mindful of their surroundings and their own responses to different tasks. This process of reflection and mindfulness can lead to a greater understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, and interests. Gardening also teaches valuable self-management skills such as planning, organization, and perseverance. Participants learn to set goals for their garden projects, manage their time effectively, and follow through with their plans. Participants will also learn about important environmental topics such as composting, water conservation, and the benefits of organic farming.

Recreational Garden Classes

Our recreational garden classes are designed to provide participants with a fun and educational experience in gardening. These classes cater to a wide range of interests and skill levels, from beginners to experienced gardeners. Participants engage in practical, hands-on activities that teach them how to plant, maintain, and harvest a garden. This can include everything from soil preparation and planting techniques to pest management and composting. Participants also learn to observe plant growth, recognize the needs of their garden, and manage their time effectively to ensure their plants thrive. Our classes often emphasize sustainable gardening practices. Participants can learn about organic gardening and the importance of biodiversity. This fosters a sense of responsibility towards the environment and encourages participants to adopt eco-friendly practices in their own gardens.
